Dr Dave Clarke
Dave completed nurse training as an adult nurse in Leicester and worked within critical care. After a short time he converted to children's nursing and was senior clinical nurse in children's intensive care. He subsequently moved into education as a practice educator and later lecturer/practitioner. He joined the university in 2001 and with colleagues has developed the children's clinical skills laboratory, one of the few dedicated clinical skills laboratories in the UK and he has published widely about this initiative.
He led the undergraduate child branch programme for three years as Programme Manager and is involved in a number of skills projects and an IPL project with the Department of Occupational Therapy. He is a member of the editorial board for Nursing Children and Young People and a reviewer for Nursing Standard. He has also written reviews for Feminist Review and Gender and Education.
Dave has contributed to many school wide activities and is a long standing member of the schools Learning and Teaching Committee. He has previously chaired the schools technology enhanced learning group and is currently co-chair of the schools clinical simulation group. He is also an active member of the schools Athena Swan group.
