Mrs Erica White
Undergraduate Programme Leader
As undergraduate programme leader for two degree courses I have responsibility for the daily provision and overall leadership of both degrees. Both degrees were revalidated in March 2007 and the department received a number of commendations from our professional body (Society of Radiographers) and the regulatory body (Health Professions Council).
I have introduced a number of new initiatives, including a well received programme for third year students to prepare them for professional practice.
As undergraduate course leader I have responsibility for two degrees – BSc (Hons) Radiotherapy and Oncology and BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging. I also lead two modules at levels 2 and 3 on the BSc (Hons) Radiotherapy and Oncology degree and I teach on all undergraduate modules in this degree.
I also teach both professional groups (radiotherapy and diagnostic radiography) in shared areas. I lead teaching with regard to ethical and legal areas in radiography.
I lead the radiotherapy aspect of the Certificate of Higher Education for Assistant Practitioners (Radiotherapy and Oncology) and am module leader for Radiotherapy Practice
I am regularly asked to lead sessions related to law and ethics on healthcare related undergraduate degrees – physiotherapy, operating department practice and medical illustration.
I lead a multi-disciplinary postgraduate module, Ethics in Health and Social Care. Additionally I teach on a range of postgraduate modules with relation to ethical and legal issues.
I also regularly contribute (legal and ethical issues) to courses held in Breast Test Wales.
