Dr Paulien Roos

I obtained both my BSc and MSc from Wageningen University (the Netherlands) (1998-2003). These were in Biology with a theoretical and mathematical specialisation and a focus on biomechanics and computer simulation.

My PhD was in trip recovery strategies of younger and older adults. This was at the School for Health of the University of Bath (UK) (2004-2007), and was followed by a one-year Research Officer position in this same field of research.

After this, I worked a PostDoc at the Nonlinear Biomechanics Lab of the University of Texas at Austin (USA) (2008-2010) and investigated fall risk and stability measures with the use of simulation models of walking.

I joined Cardiff University in August 2010 as a Cardiff Academic Fellow in the Arthritis Research UK Biomechanics and Bioengineering Centre (AR UK BBC). I am part of the rehabilitation research team and based at the School of Healthcare Studies.
