Ms Rowan Pengelly
I have twenty years of experience of working as an occupational therapist in health, social care and higher education settings. I initially worked with a range of client groups within hospital settings, including people with long term mental health conditions and older people. This experience was expanded during my six years working in two different Social Services teams when my case load included people across the whole life span who experienced a full range of medical conditions and social situations. I have spent the last seven years in education during which time I have maintained my contact with Occupational Therapy working within housing through my involvement with College of Occupational Therapy (COT) specialist section – Housing.
As a tutor on the problem based learning full time Occupational Therapy course I have had responsibility for leading the delivery of the first year and more recently for developing and delivering the new curriculum and overseeing the assessments on the course. I also contribute to teaching on the Postgraduate Diploma accelerated Occupational Therapy course and lead a module in health promotion on the MSc Healthcare Studies.
