Mrs Wendy Cumines
I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1987 from Dorset House School of OT, Oxford. In 2007 I completed a Masters degree in Special Educational Needs (MA SEN) from the University of Wales, Newport.
I was appointed in 2010 as an Occupational Therapy Lecturer at the School of Healthcare Studies at Cardiff University and teach mainly on the undergraduate programmes. I am currently completing module 1 of The Postgraduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching (PCUTL).
Prior to my current position I worked for 23 years as an OT in a range of settings, predominantly working with children, young people and their families. I have always had an interest in developing integrated services and promoting collaborative working between professional groups and organisations to improve client care. My areas of special interest are working with children with Developmental Coordination Disorders, handwriting difficulties and promoting leisure participation.
