Evaluation of packed lunch guidance for parents and primary schools
Food consumed within school represents an important contribution to children's daily overall nutritional intake, therefore it is essential that the food that children eat within school, whether a school meal or packed lunch is of an adequate nutritional standard to ensure healthy growth and development.
Aims of Project
'Appetite for life' proposes that schools should be encouraged to influence, assist and guide pupils and parents in the preparation and provision of nutritious packed lunches and other food brought into school, 'healthier lunchbox guidance was issued by the Welsh Assembly Government in 2007. It is the aim of this research to assess the impact success and utility of the guidance for parents, schools and pupils.
