Paul is on the executive committee of the Cardiff Node of the NCRM.

Paul is the associate director of the ESRC Centre for Economic and Social Aspects of Genetics (CESAGen). His research interests include the development of qualitative research methods (including applications of information technology), the sociology of medical knowledge and the sociology of cultural production.
