Cardiff University is hosting the third seminar in the ESRC-funded Seminar Series 2010-11. Making Bad Jobs Better. The seminar series brings together academics, policy-makers and practitioners to discuss existing research on bad jobs, generate policy proposals and identify new research agendas.
The third seminar focuses on routes out of bad jobs, such as progression opportunities, and the role played by education and training. Speakers are Prof. Barbara Pocock (University of South Australia), Peter Kenway (New Policy Institute), Prof. Stephen McKay (University of Birmingham) and Prof. Patricia Findlay (University of Strathclyde). There will also be a practitioner/policy panel.

The seminar series is organised by Chris Warhurst of Sydney University, Johanna Commander and Patricia Findlay from SCER at the University of Strathclyde, and Caroline Lloyd and Ewart Keep from SKOPE at Cardiff University.
