Theory and Methods in Criminological Research: A Postgraduate Conference
Starts: 19 December 2012
Wednesday 19th December 2012, Glamorgan Building, Cardiff University
The postgraduate community of the Cardiff Centre for Crime, Law and Justice (CCLJ) would like to invite you to participate in a FREE one-day conference by submitting papers and/or posters for presentation. This conference is jointly-funded by the CCLJ and the University Graduate College.
The CCLJ has a reputation for theoretically informed and methodologically rigorous interdisciplinary research. We would like to encourage any postgraduate students with an interest in criminology to join us in this opportunity to celebrate current doctoral work and develop a strong network that can continue to produce high-quality research.
This one-day conference hosted at Cardiff University’s School of Social Sciences will include a keynote presentation from Professor Tim Newburn (LSE) who will be presenting on his on-going research ‘Reading the Riots’, investigating the events of August 2011.
The conference committee welcome abstracts from postgraduate researchers at all stages of their doctoral research, including those in the formative stages or who are nearing submission. The conference will be an excellent opportunity to disseminate your research to a criminological audience and to listen to other researchers at a similar stage of their careers. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
