Masters Enrolment for New Students 2014/15

Enrolment for all new Masters students in 2014/15 will take place on-line – access to the enrolment process is via this Cardiff University web page.

Once you have accepted your offer of a place to study on a Masters degree scheme in the School of Social Sciences, the University’s Academic Registry will contact you with details on how to enrol on-line. You will be able to access the on-line enrolment facility 5 weeks before your degree course begins in late September, therefore the Academic Registry will be contacting you on this towards the end of August.

Please note, students will also be choosing their modules for the year on-line.  You will be prompted to do this once you have completed the enrolment process.  Prior to doing this, you will have been sent a Pre-enrolment pack which will include details on all modules running in 2014-15.

Postgraduate Induction Day

New Masters students will be sent details of the School of Social Sciences Postgraduate Induction Day which will be taking place on Tuesday, 23rd September 2014 (9 am – 3 pm) in the Glamorgan Building. The morning session will comprise generic information presenting all aspects of being a Postgraduate student in the School of Social Sciences, and also information on the University’s facilities specific to Postgraduate students. In the afternoon, students will meet their Programme Coordinator, and be given programme-specific information.

Induction Week Events

Specific information sessions for all new Masters students have been scheduled to take place in Induction Week (week commencing 22nd September 2014).  These will cover study skills, library skills and assessment. Students whose first language is not English should attend a diagnostic session in order that we can ascertain the support they will need throughout the academic year. Further details on all sessions will be available shortly.

First Week of Classes

Classes will begin on Monday 29th September 2014.
