Undergraduate Enrolment for International, EU and Erasmus Students 2012-13

In the School of Social Sciences (SOCSI), the main contact for incoming Non-degree/Erasmus/Exchange students will be:

You need to ensure you have discussed and agreed your module choices with Professor Susan Baker.

Modules in the School of Social Sciences which are available to non degree students can be found in the module catalogue below.


Professor Baker will be available to meet with students to agree module selections as follows:

Autumn Semester Joiners: Wednesday 26th September 2012, Rm 2.15, Glamorgan Building, between 10.00am and 12.00pm.

Spring Semester Joiners: Thursday 24th January 2013, Rm 2.15, Glamorgan Building, between 10.00am and 12.00pm.

You will need to fill in the ‘International Students’ form (below) and bring it with you.  The form needs to be signed by Professor Baker and returned to the SOCSI Undergraduate Office, Rm 0.06, Glamorgan Building.  Once you have agreed modules with Professor Baker you will need to log in to Sims Online and complete the enrolment and module selection task.  

The School of Social Sciences has a Computer Room (0.88, Glamorgan Building) which is available for students to use. For details of other IT rooms in the University see: IT Rooms and Facilities.


If you wish to select modules run by another school you will need to seek approval from that school.  You should seek approval before making your selections online.

One Semester Only: If you are here for one semester only you should ensure you select the 10 credit SOCSI module codes.  You will attend the same classes as students doing the 20 credit modules but your assessment will be 100% coursework.

Full Year: If you are here for the full academic year then you will need to select the 20 credit SOCSI module codes.  You will attend the same classes and will follow the assessment as specified in the module catalogues. 

Please note the deadline for making changes to modules is:

  • Autumn Semester: Friday 12th October 2012
  • Spring Semester: Friday 8th February 2013
