From our point of view as students, in order to make yourself more employable you need to show that you have a well rounded skill set. To enable this we would recommend you to participate in a wide range of academic and non-academic activates such as volunteering, sports, part-time work, work experience or a society. Also, the Student Development Service provides free short sessions to facilitate professional development in communication, personal effectiveness and leadership. These could include things like speaking and presenting, problem solving and coaching skills.
SOCSI has its very own engagement and innovation officer, Ian Jones. He is very enthusiastic and willing to help anyone develop their personal skills. You can contact him at email@example.com to arrange to speak to him about anything you require help or advice with.
