Become a Mentor!
The School of Social Sciences (SOCSI) is starting an exciting Peer Mentor Scheme recruiting existing SOCSI Undergraduate Students to act as voluntary mentors, working with small groups of first year SOCSI students.
As a SOCSI Peer Mentor you will be directly enhancing the learning experience of new students, developing their academic skills and helping with the transition to life at Cardiff University and in particular the School of Social Sciences. In taking part you will develop your own skills, learn how to evidence employability skills as well as enhance your CV.
Why become a Mentor?
- Enhance CV and employability skills
- Help first year students
- Receive full training and supervision
- Receive a certificate for mentoring
- Show employers your altruistic side
- Get the opportunity to register for the Cardiff Award
The closing date for all applications is Tuesday 16th April 2013
Students may apply by visiting Learning Central and submitting an application on the SOCSI Undergraduates Module, where you will find a submission link under 'SOCSI Peer Mentoring', or by picking up an application form from the Undergraduate Office (room 0.06) and submitting it by the 16th of April.
