- Mainstreaming Gender Equality in Universities in Europe - I am a member of an expert group set up by the European Commission’s Research Directorate-General; we are drafting a document for them called: Structural change in research institutions: Enhancing excellence, equality and efficiency in research and innovation. It will be launched at the European Gender Summit in November 2011
- Women in STEM in Scotland - The Royal Society of Edinburgh, with the involvement of the Chief Scientific Advisor for Scotland, Prof Anne Glover, has established a Working Group to develop a ‘strategy for Scotland to increase the proportion of women in the STEM workforce and the number that rise to senior positions in universities, institutes and business’. The Working Group is chaired by Dame Professor Jocelyn Bell Burnell, and I am an expert adviser to it. It will be reporting Autumn 2011.

- Gender and the Knowledge Economy - I am writing up some papers with Alison Parken from the European Commission 6th Framework Programme Integrated Project EURODITE on Regional Trajectories to the Knowledge Economy (2005-10). Publications so far include:
