- Planned to begin in 2014: Forbidden Lives: Inter-racial Relationships in South Africa during and after Apartheid. With Professor Robert Morrell (University of Cape Town). Proposal in preparation.
- 2010-2014: Elite independent schools in globalising circumstances: a multi-sited global ethnography. Funded by the Australian Research Council. Project Leader: Professor Jane Kenway (Monash); Chief Investigator: Professor Fazal Rizvi (Melbourne); International Researchers: Professor Debbie Epstein (Cardiff), Associate Professor Aaron Koh (Singapore), Professor Cameron McCarthy (Illinois, Urbana-Champaign); Research Fellow: Dr Johannah Fahey (Monash). This project investigates formations of elites in and through schooling in the UK and former colonies (Australia, Barbados, Cyprus, Hong Kong, India, South Africa and Singapore) as well as a school in the British ‘public school’ model in Argentina.
