Learning Environment

The Cardiff University School of Social Sciences is a thriving centre for teaching and research in the fields of Sociology, Education, Criminology, Social Policy, Health and Social Care with an international reputation in all areas. Around 350 undergraduates join the School each year to follow degrees in Sociology, Education, Social Policy and Criminology.
The School aims to continue to play a major role in fostering public debate and policy development at regional, national and international levels. Staff act as advisers to the Welsh Assembly Government, Westminster and European parliaments as well as a wide range of national and international organisations.
The School enjoys close links with the Department of City and Regional Planning, the College of Medicine, Cardiff Business School as well as other departments within the University.
