Open Days
Open Days give you the opportunity to learn about the degree schemes in the School; to see our approaches to teaching; to meet academic staff, admissions tutors, schools' liaison officers, careers advisers and of course, students. In addition, you can visit the Students' Union, residences, libraries and other facilities.
University Open and Visit Days
University Open Day Wednesday 25 April 2012
The University Open Day provides an opportunity for year 11 and 12 pupils, teachers, careers advisers and mature students, to see University life as it really is. From 09.30 to 16.00 pm there will be tours of departments, displays, hands-on demonstrations and opportunities to meet staff in each department. You will be able to see for yourself the buildings, lecture theatres, libraries, sports, social and other facilities, available to students at Cardiff.

Humanities Open Days
The Humanities and Social Studies Board organises two Open Days each year, usually in February and March, for inter-departmental Joint Honours applicants. The programme for applicants includes an introductory talk by a member of staff, viewing the University video, visits to both departments in which the applicant wishes to study and a presentation on Student Life by the Students' Union. The parents' programme also includes viewing the University video, plus a talk by a senior member of staff and a one hour question and answer session, when the senior member of staff is joined by representatives from the Dean of Students' Office, the Library, the Careers Service and Residences and by students representatives, followed by tea.
