The School is a large and friendly department with excellent facilities, an internationally recognized body of world-class academics, and a tradition of welcoming international students.

The School is made up of  four departments:

Having all these disciplines in one School brings many advantages to students. It allows the School to provide an exciting range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, which allow a wide range of choice and flexibility within and between disciplines. Courses range from prehistoric times to contemporary societies, from scientific conservation and archaeology to modern history, and cover the prehistory and the history (ancient, medieval, early modern and modern) of Britain, Europe, North Africa and Asia.

We welcome applications from overseas students whether you wish to study at an undergraduate or postgraduate level, or whether you prefer to spend a year or semester abroad in the School as part of your education and training elsewhere.
