Archaeology & Conservation Postgraduate Degrees
Cardiff offers a range of Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees in Archaeology and Conservation, as well as Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Archaeology or Conservation. Cardiff's Masters degrees attract students either who wish to continue a particular part of their undergraduate education in a more detailed and intense way or who want to focus intently on a specific area of interest. Many use it as a critical stage in their careers in archaeology, conservation or the heritage sector. Many students continue on the PhD, while others go directly into employment.
All Masters are available full- or part-time. All MAs and MScs share a common structure: two semesters of taught courses followed by a summer semester dedicated to writing a dissertation. Teaching is via one-to-one supervisions or small group tutorials; assessment is via essays and presentations.
