Structure and Corrosion of Metals - 10 credits (HS2359)

This module defines the structure of a range of metals and their alloys and examines their corrosion in various environments. Types of corrosion are identified and the nature of corrosion products on antiquities is discussed, along with the concept of original surface. Emphasis is on burial and post excavation contexts.
