Ancient Egypt - 10 credits (HS2120)
10 credits, Autumn semester
An introduction to the landscape and people of ancient Egypt and how the landscape was translated into the belief system of the country. It will look at the ideological role of writing to reinforce images of Egypt’s position in the world and the significance of temples and tombs within the society and landscape of Egypt.
METHODS OF TEACHING: 10 weekly 1 hour lectures, 2 x 1 hour seminars/tutorials.
METHODS OF ASSESSMENT: 1 hour examination (Autumn) (50%), 1 assessed essay (50%).
