Writing Archaeology - 10 credits (HST300)
In this module students develop the abilities to produce effective and accurate written work of their own and to assess and criticise the written work of others. The module is taught by small class workshops and exercises in criticism. Students are assessed by completion of workshop exercises and by the preparation of a short book review (1000 words). This module is compulsory. Major topics studied: the basics of usage; the basics of composition; writing for the (social) scientific audience; writing dissertations; writing book reviews; making applications for funding; preparing and submitting journal articles; indexes.
