Chair

Internationally-recognised with an outstanding track record, you will provide inspirational leadership and shape the University's research agenda, offering significant influence and impact. To be considered for a Chair position, you will be able to give evidence on how you fulfil the following essential criteria:

  • 4* research record, supported by publications in high quality academic journals since 2008.
  • Demonstrable national and international reputation with the ability to lead the future research agenda within the academic school.
  • Successful track record of gaining and enhancing research income.
  • Experience of research leadership and successful supervision of PhD students.

Fellow

With a record of impressive early academic achievement, you will pursue original ideas and be ready to establish networks and build research programmes.

To be considered for a Fellow position, you will be able to give evidence on how you fulfil the following essential criteria:

  • Post-doctoral research experience, supported by outstanding personal academic records, commensurate with your career stage.
  • A high quality publication record that will enhance a REF submission.
  • Ability to develop independent research objectives, projects and proposals.
  • A successful record in securing research grants, as appropriate to your disciplinary area.

Application Process

You can complete your application in three easy steps by clicking Apply Now. You'll be asked to upload your current CV and supply a covering letter, explaining your motivation for applying for these posts and the direction you see your research going in the next five years. You'll also be asked to complete an Equal Opportunities Form.

There is no formal closing date, although we may put a hold on processing new applications during December, so early application is advised. Your application will be considered by a panel of academics with knowledge of your subject area. Due to the number of anticipated applications and the need to conduct a thorough, robust and transparent shortlisting process, we do not anticipate interviews being held until early 2012.
