The Head of Security & Portering Services is supported by the Security Operations Manager and the Services Manager, with the assistance of 9 support/clerical staff. Operations are divided between ‘Security Services’ and ‘Portering Services’.
‘Portering Services’ are managed by the Services Manager and supervised by the Portering Coordinator. The Porters assist in a number of different capacities across the campus, including Manual Handling services and the collection and disposal of Confidential Waste. ‘Portering Services’ also support the University’s Mail and Transport services.
The Manual Handling team are responsible for routine moves of small furniture, desks, chairs, computers, books, equipment, etc. They also undertake tasks of delivering internal parcels and collecting confidential waste.
