Fundraising and awareness

We raise awareness for acute and chronic diseases in close collaboration with local, regional and national charities and together with dedicated patient focus groups.

Our research spans a wide range of conditions that affect a large number of people in Wales and beyond, such as atherosclerosis, dementia, diabetes, arthritis and cancer. We focus on the mechanisms underlying chronic disease progression, the control of infection and the induction of effective immune responses, with direct benefit for public health and society as a whole.

Activities

We participate in events such as World Cancer Day, Word Kidney Day and engage in fundraising activities for organisations like Tenovus, the British Heart Foundation and Kidney Wales Foundation.

Our activities are closely aligned to all-Wales entities such as the Wales Cancer Research Centre, Wales Kidney Research Unit, National Centre for Mental Health and HealthWise Wales.
