Socio-technical transitions towards a more sustainable future are at the core of the Cardiff University’s research strategy.  The Low Carbon Research Institute (LCRI) and the Sustainable Places Research Institute (PLACE) are among the leading research institutes in Wales focusing on sustainable, low carbon socio-technical transitions at a variety of scales.  This second seminar series is a common initiative of both institutes and involves discussion and debate on research conducted on past, present and prospective energy transitions.  The series includes presentations by leading researchers in the field of transition studies.  Their work addresses questions and problems of the interaction between the built environment, energy systems, sustainability and urban, regional and national policy and governance.
