Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Wales Chapter

The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) is the world’s largest organisation of scientists and physicians devoted to advancing understanding of the brain and nervous system. Founded in 1969, it now has some 38.000 members worldwide.

SfN Chapters

SfN has over 100 regional chapters (branches) in North America and an increasing number of international chapters.

Chapters help members to network, share information, and educate the public about neuroscience on the local level. Chapters are also supported by the SfN through chapter grants and awards.

CNC members of SfN together with SfN members from Swansea University and Bangor University recently formed the Wales Chapter, the second SfN chapter in the UK.

The current Chapter representative is:
Dr Emma Lane B.Sc. Ph.D. FHEA
President of the Network of European CNS Transplantation and
Restoration (NECTAR)
LaneEL@Cardiff.ac.uk
Lecturer in Pharmacology
Welsh School of Pharmacy
Redwood Building,
King Edward VII Avenue,
Cardiff, CF10 3NB, UK.

Tel: +44 292 0874989
Fax: +44 292 0874149

We hope that the Chapter will provide a forum across Wales for neuroscientists to forge links and exchange information. We also plan outreach activities such as an annual public lecture in the field of neuroscience.
