The Cardiff School of Planning and Geography is a centre of excellence in research, teaching and policy and practice in planning and human geography. It seeks to understand the complex ways in which places and spaces are produced, governed and experienced in urban and rural contexts, and in relation to the built and natural environments.
The Cardiff School of Engineering is ranked among the top ten combined engineering schools in the UK (Research Assessment Exercise 2008). Research within the School is underpinned by a strong record in securing research funding and developing industrial partnerships. The School approaches research as a collaborative and innovative enterprise, involving amongst others, industrial partners, research organisations and other universities.
