Programme of Study Transfers (Undergraduates)
Each undergraduate student is admitted to study a specific programme of study. Senate Regulations for Modular Undergraduate Degrees make provision for students to change that programme of study, provided the Schools(s) responsible for teaching the programme you want to leave and the programme you wish to purse instead approve the change.
What should I do if I want to change my programme of study?
You must discuss your request with all Schools involved. If the change involves a Joint Honours scheme, both Schools involved in the teaching of the programme must be consulted and provide approval.
When you have discussed the change with the relevant schools, you should request the change through SIMS Online at http://mwe.cf.ac.uk This will need to be approved by the schools and, if the change is effective from the start of an academic year, any assessment results from the previous year will need to be processed.
Can I change at any time?
This depends on the nature of the change.
If the change of programme involves a change to the modules being pursued, the time-limits prescribed by Senate Regulations for Modular Undergraduate Degrees will apply:
Senate Regulations for Modular Undergraduate Degrees prescribe time-limits in which students may be permitted to change modules.
New Entrants may change (with School approval):
- a module during the first three teaching weeks of the Autumn semester; and
- a module during the first three teaching weeks of the Spring Semester.
Continuing students may change (with School approval):
- a module during the first two teaching weeks of either the Autumn or Spring Semester.
What are the financial implications of changing scheme?
If you are sponsored, any change of the programme of study may have implications for your award. Registry will automatically notify the sponsor, in writing, of the transfer.
You are advised to discuss the implication of transfer with the Student Advisory Service and your sponsor before it is finalised.
What if I have more questions?
Further guidance on these procedures may be obtained from Student Records, Registry [029 2087 6211 or studentrecords@cf.ac.uk]. If you have any questions you would like to add to this site please fill in the Registry on-line Comment Form .
