Change of address

This page gives you information about notifying the University when you change your address.  It is important that your SIMS student record has the correct term-time and home address, as the University sends important correspondence to these addresses including exam timetables and your transcripts.

How and when to notify the University of a change of address

It is your responsibility to update your student record on SIMS as soon as you have a change of address.

If you have already completed your programme but need to update your address then please email studentrecords@cardiff.ac.uk with your name, student number and new correspondence address.

When the change of address will take effect

If you update your student record on SIMS, then the change will be made on the central student record system immediately.

The new address(es) will then be stored on your record and used until you make another change.

What happens if your address is not up-to-date

If your address in incorrect, then you will not receive our letters and may miss important information including exam timetables, exam results and certificates.
