Alternative Examination Arrangements

You can apply to have "alternative arrangements" during your exams for the following:

Support in Examinations for dyslexic and disabled students

You will need to contact the Disability and Dyslexia Service who will advise on how to request support.

Examinations through the medium of Welsh and Religious Observance Days

If you wish to sit your exams through the medium of Welsh  or expect you will be unable to sit exam on religious grounds on certain days then you will need to notify us. Requests have to be made by week 5 of each semester by emailing exams@cf.ac.uk including your:

  • Name
  • Student number
  • Reason for the request

Every effort will be made to accommodate your request.

Examinations Undertaken Outside Cardiff University

If in exceptional circumstances you think that you may not be able to return to Cardiff for your exams you can apply to sit them elsewhere.  Please note we charge an administration fee of £350 per exam period (cancellation fees also apply).

Please read the ' Exams Outside Cardiff University Student Guide 2012-2013' for more information and how to apply. You should also discuss the matter with your School Office.

Your application must be submitted to your Head of School by the following deadlines:

  • Resit exam period (12-23 August 2013):   Friday 10th May 2013
  • All other exam periods:   5 weeks (35 days) prior to the start of the exam period

Applications submitted after these deadlines cannot be considered.

We will let you know if satisfactory arrangements cannot be made, and you will have to return to Cardiff University to sit your exams.  You will not be expected to pay the administration fee if arrangements cannot be made.
