Annual Programme Review & Evaluation of Taught Programmes

The process of Annual Programme Review and Evaluation of taught programmes (APRE) involves both Boards of Studies and School Boards.  A proforma approach underpins the process at both Board of Studies and School Board level, and has been designed to ensure: 

• that a consistent approach is operated by Schools and by the University;
• that appropriate documentation records the process of the University’s annual review activities; and
• the retention of appropriate evidence of such activities to satisfy the needs of external reviews, including QAA Institutional Review and the requirements of professional and statutory bodies.

3. APRE 1 (PG) - Postgraduate Programmes - Annual Programme Review and Evaluation - Board of Studies’ Report to School Board (designed to guide and structure the conduct of APRE by Boards of Studies for postgraduate programmes);

4. APRE 2 — Annual Programme Review and Evaluation - School Board Synopsis , for completion and return to the Director of Registry;

5. APRE 3 — A guide to the Conduct of Annual Programme Review and Evaluation;

6. APRE 4 — SIMS Management Information to Inform School Annual Programme Review and Evaluation Activities;

Two further documents are produced by the APRE sub-committee, and these look at the outcomes of student survey activity and identify noteworthy practice across Cardiff University's Schools:
