BA students intending to read for Joint Honours degrees in Politics must take two introductory Year One double modules. These are: EU4101 Introduction to Government and EU4105 Introduction to Political Thought. Modules EU4107 Introduction to International Relations, EU4108 Introduction to Political Science and EU4110 Introduction to Globalisation are optional modules.
BScEcon students intending to read for single and Joint Honours degrees in Politics must take three introductory Year One double modules. These are: EU4101 Introduction to Government, EU4103 Introduction to European Integration and EU4105 Introduction to Political Thought. Modules EU4107 Introduction to International Relations, EU4108 Introduction to Political Science and EU4110 Introduction to Globalisation are optional modules.
BScEcon Modern History and Politics students must take EU4101 Introduction to Government, EU4103 Introduction to European Integration and EU4105 Introduction to Political Thought. Modules EU4107 Introduction to International Relations, EU4108 Introduction to Political Science and EU4110 Introduction to Globalisation are optional modules.
BScEcon International Relations and Politics and BScEcon International Relations and Politics (with a language) students must take EU4107 Introduction to International Relations in addition to the three compulsory modules specified above Modern History and Politics students. Modules EU4108 Introduction to Political Science and EU4110 Introduction to Globalisation are optional modules.
N.B. For studying Politics, there are no special entry requirements other than the need for three good 'A' level grades. BA or BScEcon students intending to study other degree programmes in the second and final years but who wish to take Politics in year one must have a good A-level (normally a B) in a relevant subject e.g. History, Law or Economics.
BA students must take combinations of two double modules (40 credits).
ACCESS students wishing to take a Politics option in Year One should contact the Director of Teaching in the Cardiff School of European Languages, Translation and Politics.
