For students taking BA Single Honours History, module HS1107 is compulsory, and students must also choose three of the following modules: HS1101, HS1104, HS1105 and HS1106.
For students taking BA Single Honours History with Welsh History, modules HS1107, HS1104 and HS1106 are compulsory, and students must also choose one of the following modules: HS1101 or HS1105.
For students taking BScEcon integrated Honours Modern History & Politics, modules HS1107 and HS1105 are compulsory, and students must also choose one other History module (20 credits) from HS1104 or HS1106.
For students taking BA integrated honours with Medieval History, HS1101 is compulsory and students may also choose one or three of HS1104, HS1105, HS1106 and HS1107.
For BA students taking Joint Honours History, two or four of the five modules offered may be taken.
For BScEcon students taking Joint Honours History, two or three of the five modules offered may be taken.
For all other BA students, two or four of HS1101, HS1104, HS1105 and HS1106 may be taken.
For other BScEcon students, one or more of modules HS1104, HS1105 and HS1106 may be taken.
A student wishing to take History in Year One will normally be expected to have attained either Grade B or above at A level, or to have successfully completed an ACCESS course which included a component in History.
Students wishing to change to single or Joint Honours History degrees in Year Two must have taken at least 40 credits of History in Year One, and will normally be expected to have passed a minimum of two History modules with marks of at least 60 in each module.
