The Technology Transfer Group
The Technology Transfer team works closely with academic researchers to further develop and commercially exploit the outcomes of their research programmes. Whilst the level of revenue is usually modest in comparison with the University’s research income, it is extremely valuable. Schools are free to use their share of the funding for any activity that supports their academic development. Furthermore, the commercial application of intellectual property, appreciated by the market, can result in a positive impact on the reputation of the inventor, School and the University.
