Intellectual Property

Intellectual property (IP) is the product of thought, creativity and intellectual effort.  In the course of their research, consultancy and teaching, academic members of staff often generate intellectual property (technical discoveries, methods, drawings, designs, experimental outcomes, pieces of prose and music).  If you have any questions regarding intellectual property or intellectual property rights or think you have generated intellectual property which could be commercially valuable and protectable by intellectual property rights then please contact the Technology Transfer Group.

Details of the main types of intellectual property rights can be found on the Patent Office Website.
