Guide to Full Economic Costing (fEC) in Cardiff University

The University has adopted the Transparent Approach to Costing (TRAC) and the principles of Full Economic Costing (fEC), but what does this mean for Cardiff's researchers and Academic Schools? A general guide has been prepared by the University's Costing & Pricing Group:

- to help researchers understand how these TRAC and fEC methodologies operate in the University;
- to indicate how the additional resources recovered through fEC are deployed within the University; 
- to provide guidance to Schools on the provisions which they should make for the application of fEC income; and

- to provide information on efficiency savings required by the Research Councils

The guide is concerned primarily with projects funded by Research Councils, but the fEC/TRAC methodology is applicable to the costing of all research projects. The downloadable latest issue of the guide is available below:
