Corporate and business plans
The University's strategic direction is outlined in The Way Forward 2012-2017. This outlines our teaching and learning strategy, commitment to meet academic quality and standards, development of projects and partnerships in the community, and the performance indicators that will help us gauge our progress.
Teaching and learning strategy
As part of The Way Forward we have developed an education and students strategy which ensures a strong emphasis on supporting students through the transition to independent learning and recruiting students from all strata of society.
Academic quality and standards
We operate a quality and standards system that covers a range of activities, processes and procedures to give the highest priority to the continuous enhancement of the quality of our programmes and the educational experience provided for our students.
External and internal audit
Information is available regarding our results in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014. We also have a number of quality marks that validate our position as a university operating at the highest quality standards.
External Examiners are required to submit an External Examiner's Report to the University on an annual basis.
Qualitative data on the quality and standard of our learning and teaching is available in the reports approved by the Academic Standards and Quality Committee.
