The Staff-Student Panel (SSP) consists of three or four representatives from each year and six members of staff. The SSP discuss and aim to resolve any concerns or problems that students and staff may have about any aspects of the course.
Recent topics of discussion have included: The amount of content in a workshop vs. time available, allocation of fourth year research projects, possibilities of recycling within the refectory, availability of past papers in preparation for exams, and rearrangement of practical groups within the MPharm degree.
The SSP aims to give students the opportunity to voice their opinions and really can get things changed. The SSP needs to know what students think and all complaints are considered seriously, if you have a problem/concern/opinion don’t keep it to your self, communicate it to the SSP.
Minutes of the meetings are kept and posted on blackboard, and ALL correspondence from students remains anonymous.

If you have an urgent problem then see your tutor or another member of staff as the meetings are only held every few months.
If you have a personal problem, for instance not knowing how to use CAL (the Computer Aided Learning system), remember that comments are anonymous so the SSP will not be able to help you. (However if there was a problem with a particular CAL package not working ect. Then this could be communicated to the SSP).
Please remember that the fact that comments are anonymous is not an excuse for rude or unfair comments about other people or for bad language! There is no need to enter a comment about the same subject more than once. The SSP takes one suggestion/comment just as seriously as twenty.
Elections for group reps will occur during October, and details of elected reps will be posted here!
