Development of asthma models
Work is currently in progress in three projects to develop animal models of asthma which more closely resemble human asthma and to investigate more fully various therapeutic agents used to treat asthma in man.
Aims of Project
We have already shown that chronic and acute animal models have useful features for investigating the pathophysiology and treatment of asthma. Work is now directed at increasing our understanding of the characteristics of both acute and chronic models and how they are affected by therapeutic agents.
