Inhibitex have just reported that INX-189, first synthesised in this School, produced a more than 10,000 reduction in viral load in patients treated with 200mg daily for 7 days, with very few side effects.

A novel 'Pro Tide' drug, first synthesised in the Welsh School of Pharmacy less than 3 years ago, has been successfully tested in hepatitis C patients   by the U.S. biopharmaceutical company Inhibitex.
