Interdisciplinary Uses of Microwave Technologies
Adrian Porch is Deputy Director of the Cardiff School of Engineering, responsible for Research and Innovation. For the last 25 years he has been using high frequency electromagnetic techniques to study the fundamental properties of materials and their applications (at Cambridge, Birmingham and Cardiff Universities). Much of this work is interdisciplinary, involving sensing and heating applications using microwave technology. In this talk he will discuss his diverse current research activities in this area, outside of the traditional realm of engineering.
