Staff involvement in public engagement with Science

 

Board members of the Darwin Centre for Biology and Medicine in Pembrokeshire, which aims to bring cutting edge science and entrepreneurship into everyday life through schools, festivals and public engagement with science and health.

 Dr Arwyn Tomos Jones works closely with many Welsh Language organisations, such as S4C to promote public engagement with science through the medium of Welsh. 

   
Wellcome Trust People award to Dr Arwyn Jones and colleague

 Dr Arwyn Jones of the Welsh School of Pharmacy and Dr Robyn Wheldon-Williams of Bangor University and the National Eisteddfod of Wales have been awarded a  £21,000 Wellcome Trust People Award grant to organise a stem cell exhibit and science activities at this years National Eisteddfod of Wales in Cardiff.


Dr Arwyn Jones has also been invited by the National Eisteddfod to present the main science lecture at the Cardiff National Eisteddfod.
