The Phoenix Project is run by an experienced team.
Manager Nicola Pulman has huge experience running projects in sub-Saharan Africa over many years. Project Administrator Catrin Jones has a background in contemporary music composition and Arts in Health programme management, and has worked in Asia and South America. Project Lead Professor Hall has worked in Africa with NGOs for more years than she cares to remember.
The team are incredibly well supported by Lynnette Thomas Head of Engagement, Kevin Leonard for Phoenix communications, and Paul Crompton for photography and audio.
The Phoenix Project is overseen by two layers of governance and has a support structure.
Responsible for overseeing the delivery of the programme within the parameters of the approved business case. Senior staff such as International Deans, representing all three University Colleges, and staff from Professional Services make up the Steering group, along with the Project Lead.
Responsible for higher-end decisions affecting all the five Flagship Engagement projects, members being executives of the University and external experts, including from Welsh Government.
Responsible for helping the project to move forward smoothly. The Head of Engagement for Research and Innovation Services leads this group and other Cardiff University staff also sit here including those from the Global Opportunities Centre and from Communications and Marketing. They are involved in the monitoring and evaluation of the project.
