The Phoenix Project is overseen by two layers of governance and has a support structure.

Steering group

Responsible for overseeing the delivery of the programme within the parameters of the approved business case. Senior staff such as International Deans, representing all three University Colleges, and staff from Professional Services make up the Steering group, along with the Project Lead.

Oversight group

Responsible for higher-end decisions affecting all the five Flagship Engagement projects, members being executives of the University and external experts, including from Welsh Government.

Support group

Responsible for helping the project to move forward smoothly. The Head of Engagement for Research and Innovation Services leads this group and other Cardiff University staff also sit here including those from the Global Opportunities Centre and from Communications and Marketing. They are involved in the monitoring and evaluation of the project.
