Engagement

We engage in a range of activities designed to deliver social and cultural impact, inform the public, and inspire young people to achieve their potential and develop an interest in science.

Biology Rocks

Over 3000 visitors joined scientists from Amgueddfa Cymru, Cardiff University and the Society of Biology to celebrate National Biology Week and Earth Science Week.

An annual event held in the National Museum during National Science and Engineering Week. The highly interactive day of activities gives primary school pupils information about how the brain works and take part in fun and interactive activities.

Cancer Research Open Day

The Open Day aimed to show the public how researchers are fighting cancer in Cardiff and gave a rare opportunity to meet the scientists, doctors and nurses who are working together to help beat cancer sooner.

National Eisteddfod 2016

Between 30 July – 6 August 2016, a team led by Pharmacy staff in conjunction with the British Psychological Society and the Gymdeithas Feddygol are in Abergavenny taking the Brain Games to a new level.

School Visits

School staff and researchers have visited a number of schools and colleges giving talks and workshops including 'saving the world', 'Brain Games', 'UAR', 'Being cloned' and career talks.

Soapbox challenge

Two members of staff from our School, Dr Emma Land and Dr Polina Prokopovich, joined a variety of female speakers from across Wales for this event.

STEM ambassador scheme

Our staff have been involved as STEM ambassadors (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) who aim to bring enthusiasm and support to school classroom projects.
