Lecturer in Religious Studies

School of History, Archaeology and Religion

Overview

Research interests

My academic interests are in the pre-modern Islamic tradition. My research interests focus on how ideas are received, circulated, assimilated, reproduced and transformed as well as the religious, social and institutional contexts in which this process takes place. I concentrate on two subject areas: the Islamic religious tradition and Islamic natural philosophy.    I use both textual (manuscript and print) and material (object and image) sources.
