Overview

My main research and teaching are in data analysis and statistical methods applied to business and economic issues. Originally trained as a physical scientist, I am committed to interdisciplinary research - believing that innovation often proceeds from where the tectonic plates of established subject areas grind together.

I have publications in a variety of areas incuding statistical sampling for price indices, neural networks, community violence, medical research, and consumer behaviour.
