Lecturer of Education

Overview

During my career I have held a variety of teaching and leadership roles in the FE and HE sector.

I am currently a Lecturer in Social Sciences at Cardiff University, specialising in education, initial teacher education (PGCE Pcet), inclusive practice, education policy and the sociologically-informed study of education.

I make substantial contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the fields of education.

I am currently the Admissions Officer for the PGCE (Pcet) Programme as well as the programme’s Placement Officer.

Teaching

  • My teaching contributions at Cardiff University are within the fields of education. I convene or teach on undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the following areas (as well as supervise student dissertations):

    • Introduction to Education
    • Developing Scholarship in the Social Sciences
    • Reflections in Teaching and Learning
    • Sociology of Education
    • Masters in Educational Practice (MEP)
    • PGCE (Pcet)

    I am a fellow of Advance HE (2013- present)

    I completed the Advance HE’s Professional Development Course for External Examiners (2019)
