Overview
I work across the Centre for Trials Research at Cardiff University, the largest group of academic clinical trials staff in Wales (180+ staff and growing).
My role involves raising awareness of the profile of our international research in behaviour change, blood and solid cancers, children and young people, and infections, as well as medical devices, methods and the older person. Our new divisional structure reflects the breadth of our combined expertise: Cancer; Infections, Inflammation and Immunity; Mind, Brain and Neuroscience; and Population Health. I am also Senior Communications Officer for the Centre for Trials Research funded by Welsh Government and Cancer Research UK.
My remit includes developing communications strategy, producing public-facing annual reports, writing monthly stakeholder and staff newsletters, strategic use of social media (including our lively Centre for Trials Research blog and @CTRCardiffUni Twitter account), press and news releases, promoting engagement with a range of stakeholders, organising engagement events, staff meetings and the design and development of the Centre for Trials Research website and study module to raise the profile of the Centre’s research output - as well as facilitate collaboration opportunities.
