I have over 25 years experience as a systematic reviewer and a particular interest and expertise in reviewing, and developing systematic review techniques for complex public health topics.

An author on more than 30 systematic reviews, I am also a Co-convener of the Cochrane Information Retrieval Methods Group.

Research

I specialise in collaborative working on systematic and other research evidence reviews that aim to provide an unbiased and current review of review within a particular subject area.  Although I specialise in health and social care topics, I work on a wide range of evidence reviews including, currently, evidence reviews to support policy development within the European Commission.

Teaching

I am involved in teaching systematic review methods.  In particular, I teach searching and quality appraisal methods for systematic review including techniques such as citation tracking to increase the number of relevant papers found within the search for any particular topic area.
